Geïnspireerd door Barbie
Je kunt het bijna niet gemist hebben, maar de Barbie-film van Greta Gerwig met Margot Robbie en Ryan Gosling als Barbie en Ken is onderweg. Hoewel de film morgen pas echt uit is, vormt het al meer dan een jaar een inspiratiebron. Zo leeft #Barbiecore weer helemaal op. De gehele mode-industrie is erdoor geobsedeerd. En wij? Wij doen daar lekker aan mee. Roze mag gezien worden, roze mag in je kast hangen, roze mag gedragen worden. En daar spelen modemerken maar al te graag op in.

- The Barbie movie looks set to be one of the hits of the summer - with fans of Mattel’s beloved dolls already eagerly anticipating seeing Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken in cinemas. Those wanting to take their Barbie fandom to the next level, will be able to stay in Barbie’s Malibu DreamHouse - which is back by popular demand on Airbnb. However, there’s a twist, as this summer it’s Ken’s turn to host. The DreamHouse has been revamped with everything he loves so guests can experience his Ken-ergy. It’s not all change, however, as Barbie’s signature pink remains ever-present throughout the life-size, toy-inspired home, as she’s done her own redecorating since the last time the Malibu DreamHouse was available for guests. “We all have dreams, and Barbie is lucky enough to have a house full of them,” says Ken. “But now, it’s my turn, and I can’t wait to host guests inside these one-of-a-kind – dare I say, one-of-a-Ken? – digs.” Ken is hosting ahead of the release of the Barbie film, which is directed by Greta Gerwig, written by Gerwig and Noah Baumbach, and in addition to Robbie and Gosling will star America Ferrara, Kate McKinnnon, Issa Rae, Rhea Perlman, and Will Ferrell. Located in sunny Malibu, the oceanfront mansion features panoramic views, Fans will be able to request to book Ken’s bedroom in the Malibu DreamHouse for two individual one-night stays** for up to two guests each on 21 July and 22 July 2023 - coinciding with the film’s first weekend of release. All stays will be free of charge – because Ken couldn’t figure out how to put a price on Barbie’s Malibu Dreamhouse. While in the DreamHouse, guests will have the opportunity to take a spin through Ken’s awesome wardrobe to find their best beach fit, channel their inner cowboy and line dance on Ken’s outdoor disco dance floor. They can also perform a sunset serenade on Ken’s guitar. Or they can just chillax by the infinity pool. As a souvenir, visitors will be able to take home a piece of the Kendom with their very own set of yellow-and-pink Impala rollerblades and surfboards.
